Blade Runner 2049: Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. About this blog

Having been a huge fan of the cult classic Blade Runner (1982), news of a sequel was greeted with both huge excitement and trepidation.

While the possibility of returning to one of the most atmospheric environments in cinematic history, but with modern studio effects has undoubted potential, the recent history of sequels and remakes in other Hollywood properties has been fraught with disaster after disaster.

I’ve taken the decision to keep the faith however, with Ridley Scott involved in Blade Runner 2049, a very strong ensemble cast and an awareness of high esteem in which the original film was held, I am certain that every effort will be made to ensure that the project is a success.

On this blog I will cover all of the latest developments in the production of the movie right the way through to it’s release and beyond.

Feel free to contact me if you have any information or want to make a contribution and don’t forget to subscribe for future updates.

Dastmalchian & Abbass Added to Blade Runner 2 Cast

/FILM have confirmed that David Dastmalchian and Hiam Abbass have joined the cast of Blade Runner 2.

Dastmalchian is a recently established actor, having starred in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight as deranged henchman, Thomas Schiff and working alongside Blade Runner director Denis Villeneuve playing the critically acclaimed role of Bob Taylor in Prisoners.

Abbass is an Israeli Arab actress who has starred in films including Exodus: Gods and Kings and The Source.

Although no details are known on the parts that these actors are set to play, it is a reasonable assumption to say that they are likely to only be bit part players due to their late casting.
